And if you're coming to Tenerife for nightlife, boat parties and days in the sun, October definitely isn't the start of winter.
Official climate averages for Tenerife South show an average daytime maximum of 26.8°C in October, around 214 hours of sunshine during the month and an average low of 20°C. Sea temperatures around the south of Tenerife are typically around 23–24°C, so swimming and boat trips are still very much on the agenda.

October remains a great month for getting out on the Atlantic.

Cross Villa de Adeje 2026

The Cross Villa de Adeje 2026 takes place on 11 October as part of the municipality's patron saint festivities.

The Tenerife Exhibition Centre in Santa Cruz currently lists a Gala Día de la Hispanidad for 12 October 2026.
If you're visiting on this date, remember that it is a public holiday, so some businesses and services outside the main tourist resorts may operate differently.
In areas such as Costa Adeje and Playa de las Américas, the tourist industry continues operating, so you won't suddenly find the island closed.
Beach Days in October
Don't pack for Tenerife in October as though you're heading to Britain in autumn.
Average maximum temperatures at Tenerife South Airport are 26.8°C during October.
That means beach days remain firmly on the agenda.

One of the biggest confirmed October events in south Tenerife is La Oreja de Van Gogh, performing at the Adeje football ground on Saturday 24 October 2026.
The concert is scheduled for 21:00, with tickets listed from €55 at the time of writing.

8th Tricontinental Craft Fair

Want a day away from the tourist resorts?
The 8th Tricontinental Craft Fair runs from 24 October until 2 November at Tenerife's main exhibition centre in Santa Cruz.

The MUSA Mexico Mexican Culture Festival runs from September until 2 November 2026 at Tenerife's Museum of Nature and Archaeology in Santa Cruz.
The programme covers Mexican culture through areas including music, cinema, performing arts, food, literature, workshops and exhibitions.
This is another solid choice if you get an overcast day and want something away from the beach.
TECNOCON 2026

📍 El Sauzal
If you're into gaming, cosplay, technology or K-Pop, TECNOCON 2026 takes place over Halloween weekend.
The event runs from 30 October through 1 November and includes technology, videogames, cosplay and K-Pop-focused activities. Entry is listed as free.
It's up in El Sauzal, so you'll need to travel north if you're staying around Costa Adeje.
Halloween in Tenerife – 31 October 2026

Halloween falls on a Saturday in 2026, which should make the final weekend of October one of the livelier weekends of the month.
Tenerife's nightlife areas traditionally embrace Halloween, particularly around Playa de las Américas, although individual 2026 club and bar programmes will continue to be announced closer to the date.
An official family Halloween programme is already confirmed in El Sauzal from 17:00 until 23:00 on 31 October.
If partying is more your style, expect fancy dress to take over the nightlife resorts that weekend.
And doing a Tenerife Boat Party during the day followed by Halloween in Playa de las Américas at night isn't a bad way to spend 31 October.
Visit Siam Park
October is also an excellent time to visit Siam Park.
The cooler temperatures compared with peak summer can make spending the whole day walking around a water park considerably more comfortable.
If you're staying in Costa Adeje or Playa de las Américas, it's also right on your doorstep.
Go early, particularly during the UK October half-term period.
Explore Mount Teide
You can't come to Tenerife and completely ignore the enormous volcano sitting in the middle of it.
October is a great time to head into Teide National Park.
Within a couple of hours you can go from beaches and palm trees in Costa Adeje to an enormous volcanic landscape thousands of metres above sea level.
Temperatures at altitude can be dramatically cooler than on the coast, so don't assume shorts and a T-shirt will always be enough just because it's 26°C at your hotel.
Whale and Dolphin Watching
The waters off Tenerife's southwest coast are famous for marine life, making whale and dolphin watching another easy October activity.
